"Most countries now have sanctions against russia, but it is hit hardest by sanctions on oil products. And they sell them through the shadow fleet. Most of it operates in the Baltic Sea, and we have to come up with a plan. Now, on a scale of 1 to 10, sanctions are at 6, but implementation is at 3. So we need to have sanctions that hit the economy,” Kellogg said.

He reminded that in the past, the United States imposed powerful economic sanctions against Iran.

“We did this in the past with Iran, we imposed sanctions that really broke the country,” Kellogg emphasized.

According to him, based on the experience with Iran, we can consider the impact on russia. It is ready to lose hundreds of thousands of troops “like at Stalingrad,” but it is already attracting North Koreans. And this shows that they are paying the price.

“So, these things need to be balanced. We often say it's a matter of airplanes or military or something else. But there must be a comprehensive plan that ensures that the pressure remains on russia and is comprehensive. This can also apply to the DPRK, we don't forget these things either,” the Trump representative added.
