The Swiss authorities have decided to join the 15th package of EU sanctions against russia, as well as measures against Belarus.
As noted, the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, as the competent authority for sanctions, has expanded the list of sanctions against russia and Belarus.
“Switzerland thus joins the additional sanctions imposed by the EU in response to russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine and the situation in Belarus. The changes will come into force on December 24,” the government said in a statement.
As emphasized in Switzerland, the newly sanctioned persons are also subject to a ban on entry and transit through the country.
“The ministry has adopted the individual financial sanctions that the EU has imposed on Belarus as part of its measures against the Belarusian regime over the situation in that country,” the Swiss government added.
