Turkey wants the US to lift some sanctions against russia

Alparslan Bayraktar complained that the restrictions could have a negative impact on the Turkish economy, as Gazprombank plays a key role in making payments for energy.

'Without it, we will not be able to pay russia. And if we cannot pay, we will not be able to buy goods,’ he said.

Journalists also note that russia is Turkey's largest gas supplier, accounting for about 42% of its imports last year. Moreover, Ankara and moscow want to create a gas hub in Turkey.
